Jelena Dokic began to rebuild her career in 2008 by winning a wildcard to Australian Open 2009. From the highs of the Australian Open quarterfinals to the lows of having to retire injured in the second round of the French Open, Jelena Dokic experienced it all in 2009. The hard-hitting Australian commanded the tennis world’s attention with her emotional return to the world’s top 100 before injury and illness threatened to cut the ride short. After taking some time out in mid-2009, Dokic made a welcome return to form at the end of the season winning ITF events in Greece and France. This is her second appearance at the Moorilla Hobart International having previously competed in 2008.
